Sync data with your LDAP server

You can use a Google product to automatically synchronize data in your LDAP server, such as Microsoft Active Directory, with your organization's Google account.

Options to sync data

Use an on-premises solution

Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS) runs on premises, in your server environment. Use GCDS to synchronize your Google users, groups, and shared contacts to match the information in your LDAP server.

For details, go to Google Cloud Directory Sync.

Use a cloud solution (beta)

Directory Sync synchronizes your LDAP user and group data with your Google cloud directory. The sync process takes place in the cloud, so there’s no need to install a client or application. To use Directory Sync you need a connection between Google Cloud and your LDAP server, usually Cloud VPN or Cloud Interconnect.

Directory Sync is in beta.

For details, go to Directory Sync.

Want to import school data?

You can import class rosters from your student information system (SIS) into Classroom. For details, go to Get started with SIS roster import.
