Host large live streams with less bandwidth using eCDN

Step 2: Upload your network rules

Upload your CSV file of network rules to the admin console.

Important: Custom settings override all past settings and are always set up for the whole company. If you upload a custom rules CSV for one organizational unit, those rules will be used for your whole company.

Select network policies and upload network rules

We recommend you test Meet eCDN using the Random policy before uploading your custom rules.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Appsand thenGoogle Workspaceand thenGoogle Meet.
  3. Click Meet video settings.
  4. (Optional) To apply the setting only to some users, at the side, select an organizational unit (often used for departments) or configuration group (advanced). Show me how

Group settings override organizational units. Learn more

  5. Click eCDN settings.
  6. Select a policy:
    1. Random: Devices in a network will connect randomly. We recommend you test Meet eCDN using this policy before uploading your custom rules and that you use this policy only for testing.
    2. Subnet (works currently only with IPv4): After configuring a fixed subnet mask of N bits, the entire IP address space will be divided into /N CIDR blocks and only devices within the same block will connect.
    3. Custom rules: Choose this setting to upload your CSV file of custom rules. Devices will connect according to custom network rules. You can also specify a fallback peering policy. The default fallback peering policy is Blocked. If you upload a custom rules CSV for one organizational unit, those rules will be used for your whole company.
  7. Click Save.
    If using custom rules:
  8. Click Upload file.
  9. Click Import.

Your CSV file is now uploaded and you should be ready to start testing Meet eCDN.
