Try features early on your devices

For other device settings, go to Manage Google Meet hardware.

You can use the preview setting to test new features on Google Meet hardware devices. You can allow users to preview features to get feedback, identify potential issues, and prepare for a smooth deployment.

Before you begin

  • We recommend that 10% or less of your fleet adopts “Early preview” to try new experiences in conference rooms before they roll out to General availability.
  • You can keep your current Release Channel. If you want to test an upcoming build of ChromeOS, select Beta.
  • We also recommend configuring the release channel for your devices to identify problems in OS updates early. To change the OS release channel of your devices, see Change the automatic updates for your devices.

Change the feature preview setting

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenSettings.
  3. Click Device settings and scroll to and click Feature preview.
  4. Select Early preview or General availability.
If you select "Early preview", devices will have certain features available to them ahead of the full rollout.
  5. Confirm devices updated with the new setting. If you set devices to preview settings, you’ll see Preview at the bottom of the display screen.
  6. If you don’t see the correct setting, restart the device.
