You can merge domains from separate managed Google Accounts, such as Google Workspace or Cloud Identity, into one account. When you do, you can manage users and services from one Google Admin console. Then, users in those domains can share Google services. Other Google Services accounts, for example, Google Analytics and Google Ad Manager, are not affected by the merge.
Before you begin
First, perform this procedure when an extended amount of downtime won’t disrupt your business or organization. You might not be able to use your secondary or alias domain for a while.
Also, choose the account that you want to keep as the primary domain. Only the primary domain can have custom web addresses and domain aliases.
Accounts associated with a Google Play Developer account
These user accounts lose their association when you move them to a new domain. After you delete the user account in the old domain, create a Play Developer account using a new account. Request to have apps transferred to the new account. For details, go to Transfer apps to a different developer account.
Step 1: Save Google Workspace data
You can use the data migration service to reduce time uploading and downloading data.
- Use the data migration service to merge user data from your secondary domain into your primary account. For the steps, go to Get started with the data migration service.

If you can’t use the data migration service, you can download the Gmail, Google Calendar, and Drive data you want to save using the Data Export tool. For the steps, go to Export all your organization's data.
Important: Once you download data with the Data Export tool, you can't upload it to any other Google Workspace account. You can, however, open the downloaded data with the Google Cloud console.
Step 2: Merge domains into one account
- Cancel your Google Workspace or Cloud Identity subscription and delete all but one of your accounts. Depending on your subscription, for details, go to:
- In the account that you want to keep, choose an option:
- If you saved the users' data from the old account:
- Add the domains for all the accounts you deleted. For steps, go to Add multiple domains or domain aliases.
- Import the users' data from the old account to their new account. For steps, go to Transfer data between Google Workspace accounts.
- If the domain has its own set of users:
- Add it as a separate domain. For steps, go to FAQ for multiple domains.
- Add the users to the account and associate them with the domain they should belong to. For details, go to Add new users or email addresses.
