Google Calendar Connector for HCL Notes (GCCHN) can be deployed onto one or multiple servers. We recommend installing GCCHN on its own dedicated server or servers.
Install for a single site
If all HCL Domino mail servers exist in one site, install GCCHN onto a single server in your organization. The server is responsible for:
- Acting as the web service provider for incoming Google-to-Notes lookups.
- Acting as the polling server. The server polls Google Calendar and updates the Notes' busytime stores for Notes-to-Google lookups.
GCCHN contacts any other server in your Domino organization to obtain and update the availability information as required by the services.
Install for multiple sites
If mail servers are located across multiple sites or time zones, install a GCCHN instance at each site. Each instance must be installed separately. Do not replicate GCCHN’s connector database.
In a multiple-site configuration:
- One instance handles the web service requests for Google-to-Notes lookups.
- Each instance acts as a polling server for users whose mail servers are held at that site. Polling services are shared across multiple servers to optimize performance.
