In this guide, you'll use Gemini for Google Workspace in Google Docs, Gmail, Sheets, or Slides. We'll give you visual cues on how to do this, but for details, refer to our cheat sheet.

Gemini for Google Workspace is available when your Google account language is set to an English dialect. Additionally, some features are available in Spanish and Portuguese. Learn more about language availability.

Save time writing email

Ask Gemini for Google Workspace to email your customer asking for a meeting to discuss a specific topic. For an added touch, ask it to include something personal about the customer, such as where they live or a common interest you might share. Gemini can draft the email in seconds, which you can quickly refine and send. 

Setup:

In a Gmail compose window use Help me Write  to write a new email.

Create a framework for customer research

In Sheets, Gemini for Google Workspace can help you plan your research before a customer meeting. It can give you a list of questions to research, possible sources to consult, and other ideas for how to structure your prep time.

Brainstorm questions for leadership

Gemini for Google Workspace can help brainstorm questions for any audience about any topic. Maybe you have only a few moments before heading into a meeting with leadership. Ask Gemini for a list of questions you might ask about company strategy, product direction, or some other relevant topic.

Create a customer contact tracker

In Sheets, Gemini for Google Workspace can quickly create a table for organizing a set of tasks, such as tracking customers you need to call in your pipeline. With just a few short words in your prompt, Gemini can build a table with placeholder data that you can replace with your customers' details.

Create personalized social media posts

Use Gemini for Google Workspace to quickly draft social media posts, such as to invite customers to an educational webinar. State briefly what the post is about and who it's for. Gemini can create a first draft in seconds that you can refine and post.

Summarize technical information

Gemini for Google Workspace can process large amounts of technical information to make it more digestible for your customers. Quickly generate one-pagers for customers based on a detailed product spec or technical white paper. Let Gemini do the hard work of generating the first draft, which you can more quickly refine.

Setup:

In a Google Doc, insert and then select the information you want to summarize. Then use Help me Write  to enter a prompt asking Gemini about the selection.

Organize a webinar

In Sheets, Gemini for Google Workspace makes it easy to create agendas for webinars, educational sessions, or other events. In just a few words, describe the event and who it's for. Then let Gemini generate ideas for sessions and timelines. Use its suggested agenda as a template for organizing your particular event.

Outline customer presentations

Gemini for Google Workspace can give you a head start outlining customer presentations, based on just a few words in your prompt. Try to tailor its output by asking it to target a specific audience. Let Gemini generate ideas for your slides, and use its suggestion as a template for building your presentation.

In a Google Doc, use Help me Write  to write new text.

"Outline a presentation for a customer showing how our new product fits their specific needs. Target the presentation at a [job role]."

Examples of job role might be "marketing manager" or "financial officer."

 

 

Generate custom visuals

Do you spend a lot of time searching stock art sites for images that only loosely convey your point or concept? Save time and get the actual image you want by using Gemini in Slides. Briefly describe your idea for an image. Then choose a style, such as photography, watercolor, or sketch. Keep generating images until you see one you like. 

Setup:

In Google Slides, use Create image  to generate new artwork.
