What's not supported in Outlook Calendar

Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook

Here are the features Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook (GWSMO) doesn't fully support in Outlook Calendar. These features either aren't available in Outlook, or they might not work as you'd expect.

Unsupported feature Explanation
Tentative or Out of Office status Choosing Tentative or Out of Office status for a calendar event appears as Busy to other users viewing your status. This is because Google Calendar supports only Free or Busy status, not the other alternatives.
Calendar attachments If you attach a document, contact, or other item to a calendar event in Outlook, you can view the attachment in your own Outlook calendar, but other attendees cannot view it in theirs. This is because attachments aren't synchronized with other people's Google calendars. Additionally, recipients of the event invitation receive an email with the name of the event as the subject and the attached item, yet without any attendee options.
Moving or copying events between calendars You can't drag an event from one calendar to another in Outlook, as you can when using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange.
Saving event updates without sending If you create or update an event in Outlook and choose not to send the change to attendees (by closing the event window and choosing not to send), attendee calendars update anyway. This is because event data always synchronizes with other people's calendars whether you send updates from Outlook.
Share Calendar in Exchange You can share calendars from GWSMO, but don't use the Share Calendar setting in Exchange. Instead, set up sharing by signing in to your Google Calendar account in a web browser. For details, go to Sharing and delegation.
"Deleting" calendar folders You can delete an Outlook calendar folder to remove it from your Outlook Calendar Navigation Pane but the calendar isn't deleted from your Google Calendar account. It's just no longer synchronized with Outlook. To delete the calendar completely, you must sign in to your Google Calendar account and delete it there. For details, go to Delete or unsubscribe from a calendar.
Rich content in calendar events

You can add rich content such as links, formatted text, and tables to a calendar description in Outlook.

If you're using Outlook 2016, save the calendar events using Rich Text Format (RTF). If you save the events as HTML, the formatting won't synchronize with other users' calendars and they only receive plain text. Learn more about how to send calendar invitations using RTF in Outlook 2016.

Calendar invitations sent to a POP or IMAP account If you create a POP or IMAP account in your Outlook profile, calendar invitations sent to that account do not appear on your primary Outlook calendar (as they do with Exchange). GWSMO can only update your calendar with invitations sent to your Google Workspace account.
Guest permissions

GWSMO preserves guest permissions set on an event created in Google Calendar, but those permissions might not have a corresponding setting in Outlook.

For example, you can turn off the "See guest list" option in an event created in Google Calendar, and GWSMO preserves the setting. However, if you modify the meeting in Outlook, and send the update, the guest list might be revealed to all attendees.
