You can use the Google Admin Toolbox Log Analyzer to interpret log files created during Microsoft Outlook migrations and troubleshoot issues.
Each time you run a migration with GWMMO, files are created that log the status of each step of the migration, along with other details. There are two types of log files:
- Status files—Summarize the overall status of a completed migration. Open a Status file to view how many items were imported and whether any items didn't import. Go to Interpret status files.
- Trace files—Contain detailed information about a migration. If you encounter a problem while importing, you can open the trace file to view where in the process the error occurred (or provide this information to Google support). Go to Interpret trace files.
Locations of log files
If you encounter a problem with GWMMO, double-check your configuration settings and submit the generated trace files to the Google Admin Toolbox Log Analyzer. Most issues can be identified within a few moments of submission. Log files are located on your computer in the following location:
- Microsoft Windows 7 and up—C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Local\Google\Google Apps Migration\Tracing\ClientMigration.
- Earlier versions of Windows—C:\Documents and Settings\your-user-name\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Google Apps Migration\Tracing\ClientMigration.
