Important: Guided Frame is available on Pixel 6 and later, including Fold.
When you take a photo with Guided Frame, you can get cues to help you frame the image. Guided Frame signals when your subject is in view. A visual frame surrounds your subject, and verbal cues and vibrations signal when to take the photo.
This feature works with:
- Front and rear cameras.
- Photo and Portrait modes.
Tip: Portrait mode will only detect faces.
Turn on Guided Frame
On your phone settings:
- On your device, open the Settings app.
- Search for 'TalkBack'.
- Turn on TalkBack.
- Open your Camera app .
On your Camera app:
- Open your Camera app .
- At the bottom left, tap Settings More settings.
- Turn on Guided Frame.
Tips:
- Guided Frame is enabled by default when your phone is in TalkBack mode.
- When your phone isn't in TalkBack mode, a suggestion prompt to use Guided Frame appears when one of the accessibility features is used.
- You can turn Guided Frame on and off in the camera settings at any time.
Use Guided Frame
- Open the Camera app .
- Point the camera at your subject.
- Follow the audio or visual instructions or vibrations.
- When subjects are framed correctly, the Camera app takes your photo automatically.
- To do it manually, press either the volume up or volume down button.
Tip: To switch between front or rear cameras, double-tap the front or rear camera button.
Subjects that Guided Frame recognises
When you take a photo with Guided Frame, it helps recognise the subjects. Recognisable subjects include:
- Faces
- Pets
- Food
- Drinks
- Documents
- Electronic devices
- Vehicles
Tip: Guided Frame works best with a single subject.
