Caption preferences: Change caption formatting

Some of these steps only work on Android 11.0 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Turn on captions

1. Open your device's Settings app .
2. Tap Accessibility Caption preferences.
3. Tap Show captions.

Change caption size and style

Important: Your preferences may not work with media apps that don't support Caption preferences.

1. Open your device's Settings app .
2. Tap Accessibility Caption preferences.
3. Tap Caption size and style
4. To change caption size, tap Text size, then select the text size.
5. To change the style and colour for caption text and background, tap Caption style, then select the style.
