If you use a mouse with your Android device, you can set the cursor to take action automatically when the cursor stops moving for a certain amount of time. This feature can be helpful for users with motor impairments.
Step 1: Connect a mouse to your Android device
Attach a mouse to your Android device using Bluetooth or USB. Check your device instructions for details, such as these steps for connecting a phone or tablet.
Step 2: Turn on auto click (dwell timing)
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Tap Accessibility, then tap Auto click (dwell timing). On some devices, this setting is called Click after pointer stops moving.
- Select your preferred amount of time between when you stop moving the mouse and when the automatic click happens:
- Short (0.2 seconds)
- Medium (0.6 seconds)
- Long (1 second)
- Custom
Step 3: Use auto click
- Move the mouse to the place you want to click.
- Stop moving the mouse.
- The click happens automatically.
