You can write in Morse code on your mobile device.

Step 1: Download Gboard

On your iPhone or iPad, install Gboard.

Important: If you have more than three languages, you'll need to remove a language before you can add Morse.

On your iPhone or iPad, open any app that you can type with, such as Gmail or Keep.
Tap where you can enter text.
Touch and hold the Globe .
Tap Morse code (US).
Enter text using the dot (.) and dash (-).

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gboard app .
Tap Languages.
Scroll down and tap Morse code (US).
From here, you can turn on settings, such as Sound on keypress, Character timeout and Key repeat.

You can change how long Gboard waits before it turns a Morse code sequence into a letter. You can also send each letter manually.

Change how long Gboard waits:
1. Touch and hold the spacebar.
2. Tap Language settings Morse (US) Character timeout.
Send a letter to the text field manually:
1. Set 'Character timeout' to 'Never'.
2. Tap the spacebar where you find the Morse code.

If you turn on this feature, you can control how long before letters turn into words when you type.

This setting is off by default, so there's no timeout.
If you set the timeout to one second, and then type 'hello', your keyboard adds the word and a space to the text field after one second.

Tip: When you turn on word timeout, your keyboard auto-corrects, suggests and predicts words as usual.
