You can make your Pixel Slate easier to use by turning on accessibility features that work best for your needs, such as increasing the cursor size or changing the screen resolution.
Step 1: Find accessibility features
- At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
- Select Settings .
- At the bottom, select Advanced.
- In the 'Accessibility' section, select Manage accessibility features.
Step 2: Turn on a feature
Choose the accessibility features that you'd like to use:
- Text-to-speech: Turn on the ChromeVox screen reader or Select-to-speak. See also 'speak to type' below.
- Display: High-contrast mode, screen magnifier, screen resolution and text size.
- Keyboard: Sticky keys, on-screen keyboard, highlighting, keyboard repeat rate and word prediction.
- Mouse and touchpad: Automatic clicking, tap dragging, cursor highlighting and cursor size.
- Audio: Play all sounds together through all speakers.
You can speak to enter text in most places where you usually type. You can even add common punctuation marks by saying 'comma', 'full stop', 'question mark' or 'exclamation mark'.
- At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
- Select Settings .
- At the bottom, select Advanced.
- In the 'Accessibility' section, select Manage accessibility features.
- Under 'Keyboard and text input', turn on Enable dictation (speak to type).
- Select where you want to type.
- You can either:
- Tap or click Speak
- Press Search + d
- Say what you want to type.

Turn on more features:
- At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
- Select Settings
- At the bottom, select Advanced.
- In the 'Accessibility' section, select Manage accessibility features.
- Under 'Mouse and touchpad', turn on Enable tap dragging.
- Select Open mouse and touchpad device settings.
- Turn on Enable tap-to-click.
To use tap-to-click, double-tap the object and hold, then drag it to move.
- At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
- Select Settings
- At the bottom, select Advanced.
- In the 'Accessibility' section, select Manage accessibility features.
- Under 'Mouse and touchpad', turn on Automatically click when the mouse pointer stops.
- In the 'Delay before click' drop-down, choose how long you'd like your device to pause before clicking.
To select without physically pressing your mouse or touchpad, hover over the object that you'd like to select.
- At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
- Select Settings
- At the bottom, select Advanced.
- In the 'Accessibility' section, select Manage accessibility features.
- To perform keyboard shortcuts by entering them sequentially, under 'Keyboard', turn on Enable sticky keys.
To use sticky keys on a keyboard, press Search, Shift, Alt or Ctrl, whichever key starts the keyboard shortcut.
- To keep a key pressed until you finish the keyboard shortcut, press the key twice.
- To unpress a key, press it a third time.
