Copy your playlists to a service outside of YouTube Music

You can share a copy of the YouTube Music playlists saved in your Google Account with other music services. Your playlists will be directly transferred to the third-party service.

Important:  Your YouTube playlists aren’t deleted from your Google Account after you share them. Learn how to edit or delete a playlist.

Supported music services

Google Takeout can transfer your playlists directly to the supported music services. These currently include:

• Apple Music (subscripion required)

Step 1:  Select YouTube Music playlists

Visit the transfer YouTube Music playlists view of Google Takeout or follow these steps:

1. Visit https://myaccount.google.com/dashboard.
2. Under “Recently used Google services” or “Other Google services,” scroll to Youtube and tap Transfer data.
3. Choose the data you want to copy.
4. Tap Continue.
   • You’ll need to sign in to your Google Account and authorize Takeout.

Tip:  You can transfer playlists that you’ve created. But playlists from other users that you’ve saved to your library can’t be transferred.

Step 2:  Copy your playlists

1. Select the supported third-party service you want to share your YouTube Music playlists with from the dropdown and select Continue.
2. Follow the steps to link your account and transfer your playlists. You’ll need to sign in to your account with the destination service and authorize Google Takeout.  
3. To start the transfer, tap Agree and continue.

Once your playlists are copied:

• You'll get an email with a link to locate the playlists in the new service. Some services may store playlists in different locations.
• Your Google Account will no longer have access to the service where you transferred your playlists, but it may still appear in the service’s settings.
  • You can remove your Google Account that shows up in your Apple account.

Important:  This is a one time share of your playlists. If you make any changes to them either in YouTube Music or the third-party service you shared them with, those changes won’t be reflected in the other service.

Export your playlists to other music services

For other music services that don't support direct transfer of playlists, you may be able to use a third-party service to export your YouTube playlists, albums, artists, and tracks.  Some third party services include:

• Soundiiz 
• TuneMyMusic

To transfer your playlists with a third-party service:

1. Open one of the supported services using the links above and follow the instructions on screen to sign in to YouTube Music. 
2. Select the service where you’d like to export your music.  
3. Click Confirm to give the music service permission to access the Google account associated with your YouTube Music account. 
4. Follow the instructions on-screen to complete your export.

The third-party will inform you once the import to their service is complete, or if errors occurred during the transfer.

Account types that don’t support sharing a copy of playlists

You can’t currently use this feature if your Google Account: 

• Is through work, school, or other organizations.
• Has Advanced Protection turned on.

Tip: A child under the applicable age in their country can share a copy of playlists if they have approval from their parents.
