- Pretargeting
- Configuration
- Regulatory
For each bidder, you can view a breakdown of the total eligible queries, pretargeting matches, and pretargeting matches with issues. You can also learn about the bidder's bid rate. You can fix some of the pretargeting matches with issues. Start by reviewing a bidder’s health.
Review bid health
You can review an individual bidder’s bid health.
- Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
- Click Delivery, and then Bidders.
- Click Go to Open Bidding, then a bidder’s name, and then Bid health.
- Review the 3 cards:
-
"Total eligible queries" card: Includes all queries that match the yield groups that target the buyer. If that number seems low, you can change your yield group targeting to match more queries. Of those queries, this card shows the number of pretargeting matches (queries that match the buyer's pretargeting configuration) and pretargeting mismatches (lack of overlap or narrow targeting).
-
"Pretargeting matches with issues" card: Shows queries that matched the bidder’s pretargeting configuration but encountered issues before we could send a bid request to the bidder. Issues include configuration or regulatory.
-
"Bid rate" card: Of the queries that were sent to the bidder, this card shows how many queries received at least one bid from the bidder, regardless of whether the returned bid competes in an auction.

Review and fix issues
Pretargeting mismatches
Issue | How to fix |
---|---|
"Targeting" Cause: Targeting is too narrow or doesn't align with the bidder's targeting. |
Update yield group’s targeting to match the bidder’s pretargeting, or contact the bidder for more information. |
More troubleshooting tips:
These issues may result from a pretargeting mismatch between bidders and publishers. For example:
- The bidder may only be able to bid in certain geographic areas.
- The bidder may only have certain inventory types, such as mobile app inventory or video inventory.
Configuration issues
Issue | How to fix |
---|---|
"SDK error" Cause: SDK was not found or properly installed. To receive bid requests, the buyer needs the SDK. |
Confirm your app has been integrated with the bidder’s SDK. |
More troubleshooting tips:
- Make sure that the bidder SDK is installed and properly initialized. Learn more about troubleshooting Open Bidding.
Regulatory issues
Issue | How to fix |
---|---|
"US states" Cause: Blocked by US state regulations. Bid request couldn’t be personalized in the user’s jurisdiction. |
Check consent reporting. |
"GDPR" Cause: Blocked by GDPR regulations. Bid request couldn’t be personalized in the user’s jurisdiction. |
Check consent reporting. |
More troubleshooting tips:
These issues may occur if the bidder isn't eligible to receive a bid request because the user hasn’t provided the necessary consent. This is expected behavior.
