Add, update, and reorder data cards

To focus on information that’s important to you, you can add, update, and reorder data cards on your customizable workspaces.

Note that the data on the cards reflects the date range and filters applied to the workspace. You can adjust the date range and add dimension filters

Add a data card

You can add new cards as they become available, or you can create and configure your own cards.

Add an available card

When new cards become available, they show on your Home workspace. On the notification above a new card, you can click Add card to keep it and allow reordering, or click Dismiss card to remove it. If you dismiss the card, you can add it back later as follows:

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. On a customizable workspace, click Add data card.
  3. On the card you want to add, click Add.
    The card now shows on your workspace.

Add a custom card

You can create and configure custom cards for your customizable Home workspace.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. On a customizable Home workspace, in the top-right corner, click Add data card and then Configure.

  3. Next to "Card name," give your card a meaningful name.
    Note: If you don’t enter a name, one will be added automatically when you finish creating the card. You can change the name later by updating the card.
  4. Next to "Data visualization," select a type of visualization for the card. Options include:
    • Line chart: Shows changes to a metric over time. Select 1 dimension and 1 metric, or select No breakdown for dimensions and up to 2 metrics.
    • Bar chart: Shows up to 2 metrics broken down by a dimension over time. 
    • Pie chart: Shows how dimension values contribute to the whole of a metric.
    • Leaderboard table: Shows a breakdown of the top 5 dimension values plus "other" for up to 4 metrics.
    • Scoreboard: Shows a breakdown of the top 5 dimension values plus "other" for a metric, or select No breakdown for dimensions to view totals for up to 4 metrics.
  5. Next to "Dimensions & metrics," click Expand to select a dimension and metric.
    Note: Some visualization types require a dimension. Some allow more than one metric.
    • To add a metric, click Add metric.
      If "Add metric" isn’t available, the maximum number of metrics has been added.
    • To remove a metric, next to the metric, click Dismiss.
    • To reorder metrics, drag and drop a metric into a new location on the list.
  6. (Optional) To add one or more dimension filters, next to "Filters," click Add filter and then:
    1. Select a filter from the list.
    2. Choose the filter settings and click Apply.
      Tip: You can apply dimension filters across all the cards at once. 
  7. Next to "Preview," review your card and make any changes.
    Tip: To show your card’s configuration, in the top-right corner of the card, click Show configuration.
  8. To finish creating your card, click Add.

Update an existing data card

You can edit, reorder, and remove existing data cards. 

Edit a data card

You can edit a custom card directly from the card, or through the "Customize" menu. 

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. On a customizable workspace, choose an option:
    • In the top-right corner of the workspace, click Customize and thenConfigure on a card in the list.
    • In the top-right corner of a custom card on the workspace, click Edit
  3. Make your changes and click Save.

Reorder or remove a data card

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. In the top-right corner of the customizable workspace, click Customize, and then:
    • To reorder a card, on the list, drag and drop a card into a new location. The order on the list matches the order on the workspace.Example of customizing Home data cards for a workspace in Google Ad Manager
    • To remove a card, on a card in the list, click Remove.
      Note: When you remove a card, any customizations you made to it are deleted, and the card is removed from your workspace. 
To undo changes you made to the list, before closing the list, click Discard changes. Learn more about undoing your customizations.

Undo your card customizations

You can undo your most recent data card customizations. Alternatively, you can entirely clear a custom workspace to start again.

This option is available until you close the customization panel in your current session.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Customize and then, at the end of the list, click Discard changes.
    Note: This option applies only to your card customizations. Your selected date range and inventory type on the workspace stay the same. If "Discard changes" can’t be selected, it means no changes are available to discard for your current session.
