Change a user's trafficking time zone

Only available in Google Ad Manager 360.
This article is specific to an opt-in feature.
This feature might not be enabled in your Ad Manager network.

Ad Manager administrators can set users' trafficking time zones to match their locations. Trafficking time zone is independent of the network time zone, which is set when you or someone at your organization created your Ad Manager network. Setting a unique trafficking time zone only affects how dates and times are displayed to users. Dates and times are always converted to the network time zone and used as the absolute value upon which ad serving is based.

Example

For instance, suppose the network time zone was set to "America/New York" (Eastern Time) and a user's trafficking time zone was set to "America/Los Angeles" (Pacific Time). This would be a three-hour difference—New York being three hours ahead of Los Angeles. Suppose the user, whose trafficking time zone was set to "America/Los Angeles", set a line item to start at 3 PM (Pacific Time). The line item would actually start based on the network time zone, at 3 PM (Eastern Time).

Why use the trafficking time zone

The trafficking time zone is meant to help traffickers who need to primarily or exclusively book campaigns that run or are billed according to a time zone different from the network time zone. You may, for example, have traffickers based in London who only manage campaigns that run in the UK.

Setting the trafficking time zone might be important if you have advertisers who want to:

Reporting

Time zones in reporting are not affected. They’re still based on the network time zone. Additionally, any other location throughout Ad Manager where a time is displayed without a time zone label is the network time zone, not the user's individual time zone.

Daylight saving time

Time zone settings take daylight saving time into account. If your time zone uses daylight saving time, Ad Manager will adjust the time zone label to show the appropriate time zone for whatever date and time you're viewing. For example, if your location is 'America/New York', the time zone will be shown as either 'EST' (Eastern Standard Time) or 'EDT' (Eastern Daylight Time) depending on the date.
