In 2017, Google updated the AdMob and Ad Manager policies related to making multiple requests to Google demand for a single impression. Since then, Google Ad Manager publishers have been strongly encouraged to remove AdMob Mobile SDK mediation as a yield partner. Instead, you should rely on Ad Exchange, which is automatically added as a yield partner, to continue using Google demand.
Timeline
We have discontinued support for AdMob Mobile SDK mediation in yield groups:
- In early January 2019, we fully deprecated AdMob Mobile SDK mediation, which means Google stopped serving ads to fill ad requests from the AdMob Mobile SDK mediation yield partner.
- On October 18, 2018, we removed AdMob from the available yield partner list. Ad serving was not impacted by this change, and we continued serving ads to existing yield groups that include AdMob as a yield partner.
Recommended action
You should update your yield group settings to remove AdMob as a yield partner by January 2019.
We recommend gradually removing AdMob as a yield partner before January 2019 to assess any revenue impact over time. Ad Exchange, which is automatically added as a yield partner, will continue to use Google demand to fill your inventory and optimize your revenue.
