I've received a notification for a page or site that I don't manage. What should I do?
If you're concerned about malicious use of your ad code by others, we recommend that you use the site authorization feature. Site authorization is an optional feature that allows you to identify only specific sites that are permitted to use your Google ad code. Learn how to authorize your sites.
I’ve found the notification, now what should I do?
You should read the notification carefully and make changes to resolve the issues. Then you should learn about requesting a review below:
Best practices for requesting a review
- Make sure you understand the violation: Each time we send a policy notification we include a snippet explaining what the policy is surrounding the violation. Read this carefully and understand how it applies to your page or site. If you still have questions after this or don't know how to resolve the issue then we recommend that you review the relevant Program policy sections in the Help Center.
- Check your entire site: When ads have been disabled on your site, we send you a notification that contains a URL as an example of the violation. Keep in mind that this is only an example, the violation may be present on other pages on your site, and we expect you to take appropriate action throughout your entire site. In many cases publishers have found Google’s search operators helpful for finding violations.
- Request a review: After you've done all of the above, you can request a review of your page or site. For page-level violations, make sure you've done everything as instructed in the notification before you request a review. For site-level violations, tell us exactly what action you've taken to resolve the violations and also how you'll prevent similar occurrences in the future. You could also list some example URLs that you've taken action on. When you're ready to request your review, visit the Policy center in your AdSense account.
Before you request a review, ensure that there's AdSense ad code on your site, otherwise we cannot review for compliance.
- Please be patient: We typically respond to review requests within a week but sometimes due to the volumes we receive it can take longer.
Will ad serving always be re-enabled after I request a review?
In many cases if you are able to make appropriate changes to bring your page or site into compliance we will be able to re-enable ad serving, but keep in mind that this is not possible for all cases. If you received a policy warning notification or if your site’s ad serving was disabled, note that the URL mentioned in your notification may be just one example; appropriate changes must be made across your entire site before we can consider re-enabling ad serving on your site.
