This article describes the standards for search ad styles. These standards are designed to enhance the overall user experience and drive better results for your advertisers. We recommend you review your ad styles to ensure that they conform with the standards. Google will automatically adjust ad styles that don't meet these standards.
Enhanced CTA default style
We've released a new Enhanced CTA default style, with an improved design to help you drive even more engagement.
You can customize certain color elements within the Enhanced CTA default style. To maintain design consistency, some elements inherit color contrasts based on colors selected for other elements.
Padding, font sizes, and margins
Note: These standards will take effect on December 17, 2024.
We've removed or restricted excessive padding, font sizes, and margin controls in the search styles editor. Any style with settings that exceed the maximum or minimums stated below will be automatically updated to conform:
- Padding settings in Global Options and the Call to Action (CTA) button must not exceed the maximum value of 20px.
- Margin settings in the CTA must not exceed the maximum value of 10px.
- Border settings for the CTA must not exceed the maximum width of 2px.
- Padding controls on all other text ad elements have been removed from the style editor:
