In February 2024, Google updated the Financial products and services policy to allow the advertisement of contracts for difference and rolling spot forex in Kenya. Advertisers offering such products will be required to be certified by Google before they can advertise through Google Ads.
To be certified by Google, advertisers will need to:
- Be licensed by the Capital Markets Authority;
- Ensure their ads and landing pages comply with all Google Ads policies; and
- Comply with the local laws for any area that their ads target, including those related to complex speculative financial products.
Violations of this policy will not lead to immediate account suspension without prior warning. A warning will be issued at least seven days before any suspension of your account.
Advertisers can request certification with Google starting 28 February 2024, when the application form is published.
