On September 30, 2024, the Google Ads Gambling and games policy will be updated in response to new regulatory requirements in Brazil.
Changes for sports betting and online gambling operators
In order to run ads for online sports betting or online gambling services after September 30, 2024, advertisers must demonstrate that they have requested authorization to operate these services from the Brazilian Ministry of Finance (MF). See this announcement for more information. Advertisers must apply for and obtain certification via the online gambling application form in order to advertise sports betting and casino services after September 30, 2024.
Changes for horse racing and lottery operators
Requirements for horse racing and lottery operators are not changing, but these advertisers need to re-apply for and obtain certification to continue advertising in Brazil after September 30, 2024. Advertisers can apply for certification via the online gambling application form.
Changes for aggregators
Gambling aggregators of any kind will no longer be allowed to advertise in Brazil after September 30.
