Google will be making the following updates to the Political content policy:
Additional clarification that non-compliance with our political content policies may result in information about the advertiser’s account and their political ads being disclosed publicly or to relevant government agencies and regulators. This update will be made in September 2019.
Election ads in the European Union (EU) will also include any ad that features a referendum question up for vote, a referendum campaign group or a call to vote related to a national referendum, or a state or provincial referendum on sovereignty. This update will be made in October 2019.
All advertisers running election ads in the EU must be verified by Google. Advertisers can now apply for verification in advance of the policy update. Information about verification requirements can be found here.
