[GA4] Create and edit roll-up properties

Roll-up properties are available only to Google Analytics 360 accounts that are linked to a Google Marketing Platform organization with an active 360 order. Only Google Analytics 360 properties can be sources to a roll-up property.

To create or edit a roll-up property, you must be an Administrator on the Analytics account.

Create a roll-up property

Roll-up properties have an additional cost for data. The cost of events in a roll-up property is one half the cost of the events in each source property, per the terms of your 360 contract; for example, each two events in a roll-up property cost the same as one event in the source property. Contact your Google partner or Google account manager if you have questions about your 360 contract.

  1. In Admin, click Create, then select Property.
  2. In the Roll-up property row, click Create.
  3. Enter a name for the roll-up property and select the timezone and currency.
  4. Select I'm aware of the additional cost in creating this property. (The additional cost is one half the cost for events in each source properties per the terms of your 360 contract).
  5. Click Next.
  6. In the Source properties row, click Choose properties.
  7. You can select any type of property except another roll-up property.

If you are selecting from a group of source and subproperties, you can select only one from that group (either the source property or one subproperty).

You can select a maximum of 200 source properties.
  8. After you've selected the source properties, click Confirm.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Select an industry category for the roll-up property, the size of the business you measure with the roll-up property, and the various reasons you use Analytics for the roll-up property.
  11. Click Create.

Add / remove source properties

  1. In Admin, under Property, click Source properties.
  2. In the Source properties row, click Edit.
  3. Select or deselect properties to add them to or remove them from the roll-up property.
  4. Click Save.

Downgrade roll-up and source properties from 360 to Standard

Roll-up properties exist only as 360 entities and so you don't have the option to downgrade them.

To avoid being billed for a roll-up property without deleting it, disconnect all of the source properties. This will prevent data from flowing to the roll-up property and you will not incur charges.

If you want to downgrade a source property, then you first have to disconnect it from the roll-up property.
