[UA] Filter out web or app data [Legacy]

If you send web and app hits to one property, the web and app hits are reported together, unless filtered.
You are viewing a legacy article about Universal Analytics. Learn more about Google Analytics 4 replacing Universal Analytics.
This article is about filtering out web or app data in Universal Analytics views. For information about filtering data in Google Analytics 4, go to [GA4] Filter, report on, or restrict access to data subsets.

Any data you send to a property automatically appears in all of your views unless you create and apply a filter that removes some data. This means that if you collect and send hits from a website and from a mobile app to one property, your web and app hits are reported together. All web and app data appear in all views associated with that property until you add a view filter to separate the data.
