[UA] Update your Attribution project settings [Legacy]

Configure your Attribution project.
You are viewing a legacy article about Universal Analytics. Learn more about Google Analytics 4 replacing Universal Analytics.
Attribution is currently released as a beta feature.

You need the Editor role at the Attribution project level to edit the project configuration.

In this article:

Update project name or time zone

Time zone changes take effect immediately but are not retroactive. Because historical data remains unchanged, you may see reporting inconsistencies when you select a past date range.

To update the project name or time zone:

  1. Sign in to your Attribution project at https://analytics.google.com/analytics/attribution.
  2. Use the drop-down in the top navigation bar to navigate to the desired project.
  3. Click Configure > Project settings in the left-hand navigation.
  4. In the Project details section, click the edit icon Edit.
  5. Make your desired changes to the account name or time zone.
  6. Click Save.

Change the lookback window

The lookback window determines how far back in time an event is eligible for attribution credit. For example, a 30-day lookback window will result in fractions for January 30 conversions being attributed only to touchpoints occurring from January 1-30.

The lookback window applies to all attribution models and all conversion types. Changes to the lookback window apply going forward.

To update the lookback window:

  1. Sign in to your Attribution project at https://analytics.google.com/analytics/attribution.
  2. Use the drop-down in the top navigation bar to navigate to the desired project.
  3. Click Configure > Project settings in the left-hand navigation.
  4. In the Lookback window section, click the edit icon Edit.
  5. Select a lookback window of 30, 60, or 90 days. 30 days is the recommended lookback window.
  6. Click Save.
