When you buy or rent a movie through an Android TV, it’s added to your library. You can watch movies and shows in your library across many devices. You can also share eligible titles with up to five family members through your Family Library.
Important: This feature isn't available in all countries, regions or languages.
Rent or buy a movie
- From the Android TV home screen, go to the Shop tab.
- Find the title that you want to rent or buy.
- To open the details page, select the movie title.
- You can choose to:
- Rent
- Buy
Tips:
- The content that you rent or buy with Android TV is added to your library in the account that you used to make the purchase. Learn where you can watch your content.
- If you want to buy a movie after you rent it, you have to wait until the rental expires. You can’t apply the cost of the rental to the purchase.
Watch previously purchased content
Important:
- If you previously purchased content from Google Play Movies & TV, YouTube, Android TV or Google TV, you can find it in your library.
- Newly purchased TV shows from YouTube are only available in your YouTube library.
- From the Android TV home screen, go to the Shop tab.
- In the first row titled 'Your library', find your purchased content.
- If you have more than 10 titles in your library: To go to the 'Your library' page, click the View all card.
- Tip: The 'Your library' page has separate sections for your 'Rentals', 'Movies' and 'Shows'.
