Download or delete apps & games

You can get apps and games for your Android TV through the Play Store app.

Get apps & games

From the Android TV Home screen, scroll to "Apps."
Select the Google Play Store app .
Browse or search for apps and games.
- To browse: Move up or down to view different categories. When you find a category you’re interested in, move to the right to view items.
- To search: At the top of the screen, select Search .
Select the app or game you want.
To install the app or complete your purchase, follow the on-screen instructions.

If you have trouble with your purchase, try a different payment method, like a credit card or PayPal. Learn how to add a payment method.

Find a previously downloaded app or game

In your TV's settings:

From your Android TV Home screen, scroll to Settings .
Select Settings Apps.

In the Play Store:

On your Android TV, open the Play Store .
At the top, choose My Apps.
Under “Apps installed,” choose an app Open.

Manage your apps

Delete an app or game

In your TV's settings:

From the Android TV Home screen, scroll to Settings .
Under "Device," select Apps.
Under "Downloaded apps," choose the app you want to delete.
Select Uninstall OK.

In the Play Store:

On your Android TV, open the Play Store .
Find the app or game you want to delete.
Select Uninstall.

Tip: If you don’t want an app to show up in the top row of the Android TV Home screen, turn off notifications for that app. Go to Settings and then Apps. Then, select an app Notifications Off.

Update your apps

On your Android TV, open the Play Store .
At the top, choose My Apps.
Under “Updates available,” you’ll find apps that can be updated. To update an app, select it or select Update all.

Turn on auto-update

On your Android TV, open the Play Store .
At the top, choose My Apps.
Select Open settings Auto-update apps.
