Choose which services remember you

When you use a service other than Google with your Assistant, a unique ID code is sent to the service so that it can remember your actions and preferences during conversations.

  • If you do not want a service to remember your past actions and preferences, reset your ID.
  • If you do not want a service to remember your past or future actions and preferences, stop the service from remembering you.

What happens when you reset your app and ID

What happens when you reset your app and ID

  • If you have an account linked to the service, it's signed out and unlinked.
  • The service forgets you, so you look like someone new the next time you use the service.
  • Your preferences and current state with the service are reset.
  • If you share a Google Assistant device with others, they won’t know that you used the service.

What doesn’t happen

  • Resetting your ID doesn't prevent the service from remembering you when you’re signed in to your account with that service on Google Assistant.
  • Your past activity with a service isn't deleted from your Google Account. Learn how to delete activity saved in your Google Account.
  • Your past activity, including purchases, isn't deleted from the service’s app.
