Try new Google Assistant Actions before official release

To get your feedback, a developer could invite you to try a new Assistant Action before most people.

Important: Before official release, Actions can be less stable. This means the app could crash and Actions might not work properly.

Test an early Action

Option 1: Use your invitation link

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, tap the link.
  2. Under “Become a tester,” tap I’m in.
  3. Ask your Google Assistant to use your new Action.

Option 2: Search for the Action

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Assistant app Assistant (iOS).
  2. In the bottom right, tap Explore & Your stuff.
  3. Search for the Action's name from your invitation.
  4. Under “Become a tester,” tap I’m in.
  5. Ask your Google Assistant to use your new Action.

Change your settings

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Assistant app Assistant (iOS).
  2. At the top right, tap your Profile image or initial.
  3. Tap an early access Action.
  4. To change your testing state:
    1. Tap Change.
    2. Tap the version of the Action that you want.
Note: An "Alpha" test is an earlier version. A "Beta" test is closer to official release.
    3. Tap Ok.

Give feedback

To give feedback, contact the developer directly. See your invitation for contact information.

Stop using an early Action

To stop testing an early Action, change your testing state to No testing or tap Reset.

  • If the Action is available, you'll get its current public version.
  • If the Action isn't yet released, your Google Assistant won't take that Action anymore.

If you no longer see an Action in your list, the developer stopped offering it for early access.
