Use Analytics with Blogger

You can use Analytics to find out where your readers come from and what they read on your blog. Learn more about Analytics.

Step 1: Sign up for Analytics

  1. Sign up for an Analytics account.
  2. Find your Analytics "ignored" ID.

Step 2: Add Analytics tracking to Blogger

Important: It can take up to 24 hours for your data to show up in Analytics.

  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Select the blog you want to analyze.
  3. From the menu, click Settings.
  4. Under "Basic," click Google Analytics Measurement.
  5. Enter your Analytics "ignored" ID.
  6. Click Save.

Switch to the second generation Layouts theme

Important: Above steps don't work with first generation Classic templates.

To use Analytics with Blogger, switch to the second generation Layouts theme on Google:

  1. Sign in to Blogger.

  2. At the top left, click Down arrow Down arrow.
  3. Select the blog you want to update.
  4. On the left menu, click Theme.
  5. Next to "EDIT HTML," click Triangle.
  6. Select Switch to second generation Layouts theme.
