You can find and manage events from different accounts in the Calendar app.
Use your Google Account to access all features
If you use a local or a third-party account, some Calendar features may not be available. When you use your Google Account, you can:
- Add guests to events.
- Receive event invitations.
- Use event and calendar colors.
- Add attachments or video conferencing to your events.
- Sync across devices.
- Create tasks.
Learn about non-Google accounts
- A local account is stored on a phone or created by another app.
- If you enable the account, events on the calendars associated with your local account are visible.
- When you create an event, you can select a calendar associated with the local account.
- A third-party account is managed by another calendar app, not Google.
- To use an enabled third-party account, you can switch to it from your profile photo.
- When you create an event, you can select a calendar associated with the third-party account.
Before you begin
- To switch accounts in the Calendar app, set your screen orientation to portrait mode.
- Your current account shows up at the top in the Menu . Other enabled accounts show up below your current account.
- To show or hide all calendars for enabled accounts:
- On your Android phone or tablet, tap Menu .
- Select the calendars you want to display in the grid.
Switch between accounts
Important:
- You can’t switch to a local account.
- To switch to a third-party account, enable the account in Calendar app settings. Learn how to enable non-Google accounts.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Calendar app .
- At the top right, tap your profile photo .
- In the menu, you can:
- Select a different account: If you have multiple accounts on the app, select a different enabled account.
- Open your Google Account settings: To customize your Google Account, tap Manage your Google Account.
- This option is only available when your current account is a Google Account.
- Switch between your work and personal profiles: If you have a work or school account with access to an Android Work Profile, select:
- Switch to work profile
- Switch to personal profile
- Manage accounts on your device: To add, remove, or update accounts, tap Manage accounts on this device.
- Add another account: You can add another account to the Google Calendar app. When you add a new Google Account, it becomes your current account.
Tips:
- The account you switch to is shown by your profile photo .
- Save any changes or updates before you switch to a different account.
- If an account is ineligible for a specific action, Calendar notifies you and automatically switches to the eligible account.
- To manage any personal calendars you have on your work profile, switch to the Calendar app associated with your personal profile.
Enable a non-Google account
Important: To show events from a non-Google account in the Calendar app, enable the account in "Settings."
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Calendar app .
- At the top left, tap Menu Settings.
- Tap Manage accounts.
- Enable the non-Google account.
Learn about account switch notifications
- When you create an event in a non-Google account in Calendar, you receive a notification about your selected account’s limitations.
- The notification shows up when you use an account that doesn’t support common Calendar features, such as colors, tasks, and syncing.
- To switch to your Google Account and access Calendar features, in the notification, tap Switch account.
