Access issues

Here are some common issues that arise when granting Campaign Manager 360 access to users, such as publishers or partners.

How do I give someone access to Campaign Manager 360?

If you have admin rights, create a user profile for the person who needs to access Campaign Manager 360. User profiles grant access to Campaign Manager 360 and include filters that limit the kinds of information the user can access. If you are not sure who at your company has admin rights, you may want to ask a manager or director. Learn how to set up user access.

If you need assistance setting up a user profile in a Campaign Manager 360 account, contact your active admin. If you don’t know your active admin, ask your Campaign Manager 360 representative to submit a request on your behalf. Campaign Manager 360 support staff cannot share admin contact details, such as email addresses.

Someone can’t see the right data in Campaign Manager 360.
  1. Confirm this person accessed Campaign Manager 360 using the right user profile, linked to the right Campaign Manager 360 account. If a user is trying to see data in your account, ask the user to check that the account is tied to your account ID and uses the profile name you selected. People often have access to multiple Campaign Manager 360 accounts. If they sign in to a different account or with a different user profile, they will not be able to see your data.

  2. Check the Filters tab of the user profile. Filters determine which advertisers, campaigns, sites, and user roles a person can access with the user profile.

For example, if a user needs to access your campaign, make sure the the sites in your campaign are listed in the Sites section of the filters (or that all sites are allowed). The site IDs in your campaign should match those in this section. Check that the same access is granted for the necessary advertisers and campaigns.

(In Campaign Manager 360, the "user roles" filter simply determines what user roles you can assign to the user profile. To check what kind of access a particular user role grants, navigate to Admin > User roles and select the user role.)

  3. Check the user role selected on the Properties tab. The user role includes permissions to view various reports. Filters may determine the campaigns a person can access, but user roles determine access to different types of information within those campaigns. For example, most user roles don’t automatically include permissions to view Rich Media and Floodlight reports. You may have to add the permissions yourself.

Note that when you change the permissions in a user role, it affects access for every user you assign to this role. So if you give one person access to view Rich Media reports in a user role, any other person you assign that user role will also be able to view Rich Media reports. If you wish to grant certain permissions to only one user, create a custom user role.

Someone has a user profile but still can’t access Campaign Manager 360.
  1. Be sure the user profile is linked to a Google Account email. If you create a user profile with a non-Google email, the user will receive an invitation email at the non-Google email address. The email includes instructions to link the user profile to a new or existing Google Account. Once the user profile and Google Account are linked, the user can sign in with the Google Account username and password, and emails from Campaign Manager 360 will go to the Google Account email. Learn more about invitation emails and linking accounts.

Navigate to Admin > User profiles in your Campaign Manager 360 account and select the user's user profile. If the user profile is linked to a Google Account, you'll see a Google Account email in the Identification section and a "Linked to Google Account" check mark at the bottom.

  2. Make sure the user profile is active. Check the Status field in the user profile.

I created a user profile, but the user never received an invitation email.

  1. Tell this person to check for an invitation email in their spam folder. Sometimes our invitation emails end up in spam.

  2. Confirm that the email address in the Identification section is correct.

I entered the wrong email address when I created my new user profile. Now my user profile is linked to the wrong Google Account!

Create another user profile and enter the correct email address in the email field. When you create a user profile with a Google Account email address, Campaign Manager 360 automatically links it to that email address. You cannot currently unlink user profiles, so you must create a new user profile instead. (Unlinking may be available in the future.)

If you still can't access Campaign Manager 360, contact support.
