Summarize conversations in Google Chat

Users with Google Workspace accounts can use conversation summaries that automatically appear in spaces with many unread messages. Gemini Alpha users can also request summaries of unread conversations and spaces in the Chat home screen.

Turn conversation summary on & off in Google Chat

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chat app .
2. At the top left, tap Menu   Settings .
3. Scroll to “Chats and Spaces.”
4. Turn "Conversation Summaries" on or off.

Turn conversation summary on & off in Gmail

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Gmail .
2. Tap Menu   Settings .
3. Scroll to “Apps in Gmail.”
4. Tap Chat.
5. Turn "Conversation Summaries" on or off.
