Add or remove someone in a direct message

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chat app or Gmail app .
   • In Gmail: At the bottom, tap Chat .
2. In the bottom navigation menu, tap Direct messages .
3. Open a DM.
4. At the top, tap the conversation name.
5. Tap Manage members.
6. Tap Add people .
7. Enter a name or email address tap Done.

Tips:

• To convert a DM with one person into a group DM, at the top, tap the conversation name Start a new chat.
• To quickly add a new person to a DM with two or more people, in the reply area, enter @ followed by the person's name.

Important: When you remove someone from a DM, they can't:

• Participate in the conversation.
• Check message history.
