- Open Zapier.
- Create a Zap or open an existing Zap.
- Add an action step to the Zap:
- Choose the Google Chat app.
- Save the Create message action.
- Connect your Google Account. This is the work or school account that you use for Chat.
- Set up a template for the messages. You can choose Chat spaces where you added the app and allow Zaps.
The Zap can now contact the Zapier app and send messages to Chat.
Using the app in spaces
To use the app in spaces, you need to explicitly @mention the app in each message to the app (including in replies to messages from the app). The @mention confirms that you're sending the message to the app and not to others in the space.
