Use the Salesforce app in Chat to search for accounts, contacts, leads and opportunities in Salesforce.
Before you begin
- You need permission from your Google Workspace administrator to install apps.
- You need to add the app to Chat. Learn how to find apps and add them to Chat.
- You need a Salesforce account.
Set up the Salesforce app in Chat
- Open Chat.
- Open a direct message with the app or go to a space with the app.
- Enter any message, such as 'help':
- In a direct message, enter help.
- In a space, enter @Salesforce help.
- Click Configure.
- Sign in to your Salesforce account.
- At the 'Allow access' window, click Allowclose your browser.
Search using the Salesforce app
- Open Chat.
- Open a direct message with the app or go to a space with the app.
- Enter show query, where query is any keyword, such as 'smith'. In spaces, enter @Salesforce show query.
The app returns results for accounts, contacts, leads and opportunities. - Click a resultclick Open In Salesforce.
- To sign out of Salesforce:
- In a direct message, enter logout
- In a space, enter @Salesforce logout.
Using the app in spaces
To use the app in spaces, you need to explicitly @mention the app in each message to the app (including in replies to messages from the app). The @mention confirms that you're sending the message to the app and not to others in the space.
