Spell check helps users review and correct spelling errors when they enter text into input fields on the Chrome browser. This article is for administrators and end users who want to learn about what data is collected by Basic spell check and how it’s processed by Google.

This is an Essential Service under data processor mode and is on by default.
Basic spell check cannot be disabled. Please note that only enhanced spell check (an Optional Service not covered by data processor mode) can be disabled.

Data processed by this service
No data is sent to Google by basic spell check. Basic spell check uses a dictionary stored locally on the device, and that text data is not sent to Google.

Google processes no personal data as part of the service.
