Applies to Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1, 5400, 7410, and 7410 2-in-1 Chromebook Enterprise devices.
Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1 and 5400 Chromebook Enterprise devices can be charged either by the USB Type-C port or by the Barrel port (7.4 mm) using an official Dell Laptop charger. Dell Latitude 7410 and 7410 2-in-1 Chromebook Enterprise devices can only be charged using the USB Type-C port.
Charging errors
Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1 and 5400 Chromebook Enterprise barrel ports only accept official Dell chargers. If the device detects a non-authorized charger, then a notification is shown on the device. In addition, the device may not charge the battery and throttle performance of the device. This does not happen when using a USB Type-C charger.

All Dell Latitude Chromebook Enterprise devices only accept official Dell batteries. If the device detects a non-authorized battery, then a notification is shown on the device and the battery is prevented from charging due to increased risk of damage.

All Dell Latitude Chromebook Enterprise devices have a special USB port marked with a battery icon that allows for devices like mobile phones to be charged while the Chromebook is connected to power and turned off. It’s possible for admins to turn this off through the USB powershare policy. For more information, go to USB powershare.
Note: All USB ports charge devices when the Chromebook is in sleep mode.
