Edit Chrome controls on Mac Touch Bar

You can customize the shortcuts that show on your Mac's Touch Bar when you're using Chrome.

By default, you'll see buttons for back, forward, refresh, home, search, favorite, and new tab.

Add a button or space

  1. On your Mac computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top of the screen, click View and then Customize Touch Bar.
  3. On your laptop screen, click and hold a button.
  4. Drag the button below the edge of your screen. You'll see it highlighted on the Touch Bar.
  5. Click Done.

Remove a button

To get rid of a button you don't use, move your cursor below the edge of your screen. When the button is highlighted, click and drag it up onto the screen.

Rearrange the buttons

  1. On your Mac computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top of the screen, click View and then Customize Touch Bar.
  3. Touch and hold a button.
  4. Drag the button where you want it.
  5. Click Done.
