Your Chromebook automatically finds and connects to compatible and secured Wi-Fi networks with a Passpoint profile. A Passpoint profile is downloaded and installed through an Android application. This lets you connect without the need to select the network or manually enter your credentials.
Connect to Passpoint
Important:- Passpoint subscriptions are applied to individual ChromeOS devices and aren't synced across devices under your account.
- Passpoint subscriptions are available through certain Android apps. These apps will request permission to install Wi-Fi networks to the device.
To connect to a Passpoint network:
- Download and install the Android app.
- When the app requests permission to install a new Wi-Fi network, select Allow.
- After setup is complete, the device will automatically connect to participating networks.
Tip: To remove these credentials and all Wi-Fi networks automatically discovered with these credentials, you can either:
- Uninstall the app or from settings.
- Manually forget one of the Wi-Fi networks automatically discovered.
Find a Wi-Fi Passpoint subscription
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select settings .
- Under 'Network', select Wi-Fi Known networks.
- Under 'Passpoint subscriptions', select a specific Passpoint subscription.
- You can find:
- Subscription expiry date
- Associated Wi-Fi networks
- List of fully qualified domain names associated with the provider
Remove a Wi-Fi Passpoint subscription
Important: When you remove a Wi-Fi Passpoint subscription, it will stop your device from connecting to associated Wi-Fi networks.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select settings .
- Under 'Network', select Wi-Fi Known networks.
- Under 'Passpoint subscriptions', next to a Passpoint subscription name, select More Remove.
- Optional: Select a specific Passpoint subscription Remove.
