With Battery Saver, you can extend the battery life of your Chromebook by:
- Lowering display brightness
- Turning off keyboard backlight
- Turning on Chrome Energy Saver
- Turning on Android Battery Saver when you use apps. Learn how to turn on battery saver mode manually
- Throttling the CPU
Turn Battery Saver on or off
- On your Chromebook, at the bottom right, click the battery icon.
- Select Settings System preferences Power.
- Under “Power,” turn on or off Battery Saver.
Tips:
- When you plug in your Chromebook to charge, Battery Saver isn't available.
- If you don't have Battery Saver turned on, when your Chromebook gets to low battery, a notification appears that lets you know that Battery Saver has automatically been turned on.
- To turn the Battery Saver off, in the notification bar, click Turn off. Or, in Settings, go to the Power page in Settings and turn off Battery Saver.
- When you plug your Chromebook in to charge, Battery Saver will automatically turn off.
- You know Battery Saver is turned on if:
- The battery icon in the toolbar has a “+” symbol in yellow.
- When you open the Quick Settings, you find a yellow bubble around the battery icon, with a “+” symbol.
