Extend your battery life with Battery Saver

With Battery Saver, you can extend the battery life of your Chromebook by:

Turn Battery Saver on or off

  1. On your Chromebook, at the bottom right, click the battery icon.
  2. Select Settings and then System preferences and then Power.
  3. Under “Power,” turn on or off Battery Saver.

Tips:

  • When you plug in your Chromebook to charge, Battery Saver isn't available.
  • If you don't have Battery Saver turned on, when your Chromebook gets to low battery, a notification appears that lets you know that Battery Saver has automatically been turned on.
    • To turn the Battery Saver off, in the notification bar, click Turn off. Or, in Settings, go to the Power page in Settings and turn off Battery Saver.
    • When you plug your Chromebook in to charge, Battery Saver will automatically turn off.
  • You know Battery Saver is turned on if:
    • The battery icon in the toolbar has a “+” symbol in yellow.
    • When you open the Quick Settings, you find a yellow bubble around the battery icon, with a “+” symbol.
