The warning “Low power” or the link “g.co/cast/power” appears on your TV screen when your Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer (4K) doesn’t have enough power to function properly. To troubleshoot, follow the steps below:
- Check if your Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer is plugged into the power adapter that came with it. If it’s plugged into your TV’s USB port or a different adapter, it might not be getting enough power. If a replacement is needed, the recommended adapter spec is 5V/1.5A.
- Make sure the power adapter is plugged into a reliable wall outlet.
- Use the cable that came with the Google streaming device. If you use a different cable, it might not be supported. Using a different cable may also cause the device to get stuck in a reboot loop.
- Check if the cable is completely plugged into both the adapter and the streaming device.
- Reconnect the cable into both the adapter and the streaming device:
- Unplug the cable from the streaming device and the adapter, then wait 5 seconds.
- Plug the cable into the adapter, then plug it into the streaming device.
- Make sure the power adapter is plugged into a reliable wall outlet.
- Check if no USB Type-C hubs or switches are between the streaming device and power adapter. They can affect the power capability or power delivery compatibility.
