Create, edit, and share a Guest Wi-Fi network

Guest Wi-Fi is a separate network just for your guests. Guests can get online and use shared devices you choose, like a Google streaming device, smart TV, wireless speaker, or printer. Learn more about your privacy with Google Nest Wifi and Guests and your Google connected home devices.

Set up Guest Wi-Fi

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Favorites  and then Wifi  and then Network settings and then Guest Network.
  3. Turn on Guest network.
  4. Enter a network name and password for your guests to use. 
    • A password is required for Guest networks.
    • Choose a name and password that is different from your main Wi-Fi network.
  5. Under “Shared devices,” select any devices you would like your guests to be able to use.
  6. Tap Save.

Turn off Guest Wi-Fi

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Favorites  and then Wifi  and then Network settings and then Guest Network..
  3. Turn off Guest network.

Edit Guest Wi-Fi

You can change the name of your Guest network, password, and which devices are shared with your guests.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Favorites  and then Wifi  and then Network settings and then Guest Network.
  3. Edit the details of your Guest network.
  4. Tap Save.

Share your Guest Wi-Fi password

With Google Nest Wifi or Google Wifi, you can easily check and share your Guest Wi-Fi password with guests through text, email, and other apps or on your Google Nest display.

Share your Guest Wi-Fi password from the Google Home app

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Favorites  and then Wifi  and then Share password and then swipe left to your Guest Network.
  3. Tap Copy, Message, or Email to share.

Share your Guest Wi-Fi password on Google Nest displays

  1. On a Nest display, swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap Connectivity and then Guest Wi-Fi.
  3. Your Guest Wi-Fi network name and password will be displayed.

To hide your guest password from your display:

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Favorites  and then Wifi  and then Network settings.
  3. Uncheck Show your Guest network password on your Assistant-enabled displays.

Share your Guest Wi-Fi password with Google Assistant

Sharing your Guest Wi-Fi password with Google Assistant is available when you use Google Nest Wifi or Google Wifi in the Home app.

To do this: Say "Ok Google" or "Hey Google," then:
Check Guest Wi-Fi password

Note: This command is currently not available in Finland, Portugal, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
