All devices running Android 8.0 or later (for Google Home app controls) support the Cast feature.
Note: Some Android devices may not have the necessary power to provide an optimized Cast experience.
- Make sure you're not running "Power Saving Mode" on your Android device. This can limit the processing power of your device which could affect the performance of the Cast Audio feature.
- Important: The "Microphone" permission in the Google Play Services app needs to be turned on to successfully use the 'Cast Screen/Audio' feature with Chromecast Audio. If you don't have this permission turned on, the Cast Audio session will immediately disconnect after trying to connect.
- To turn on microphone permissions:
- On your Android device, tap Settings .
- Scroll down and tap Apps Google Play Services Permissions.
- Look for "Microphone" and slide the slider On .

Note: Casting your Android audio is not supported on iOS or Windows devices.
Cast your audio from your Android device
- Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast Audio or speaker that works with Google Cast
- Open the Google Home app .
- Tap and hold your device's tile.
- Tap Cast my audio Cast audio.
Adjust the volume when casting your Android audio
- Open the Google Home app .
- To adjust the volume, tap Media .
Stop casting your audio from your Android device
- Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast Audio or speaker that works with Google Cast.
- Open the Google Home app .
- Touch and hold your device's tile Stop casting .
