Why should I migrate my billing account?To better serve our Google Cloud Platform customers in India, we are transitioning from USD to local currency payments. For Indian customers to pay in Indian rupees, customers will need to migrate billing accounts from Google Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to Google Cloud India Private Limited.
No. Going forward all customers with a billing account address in India will be billed in Indian rupees (INR), regardless of the GCP region being used.
Your old account was charged in USD by Google Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. Your new account will be will be charged in INR by Google Cloud India Private Limited.
To comply with local law and accordingly charge the applicable tax correctly on the invoice, Google Cloud India is required to collect your Goods and Services Tax Identification Number "GSTIN" (where available) and other tax related information.
