Set up email with your domain

When you sign up for Cloud Identity, you need to be able to receive email through your new account. Your email address will be your username at your domain (like [email protected]). Google sends messages about your Cloud Identity account to this email address.

Get email at your domain

To get email through your domain, you add MX records for your email account to your domain’s DNS records. Adding the records is like registering your address with the post office. It facilitates accurate email delivery. You get your MX records from your email host provider.

Tip: Many domain and web hosts provide email-hosting services, and they can set this up for you.

Email setup options

  • Get your email in a Gmail inbox with Google Workspace as your email host. (Sign up in the Billing section of your Google Admin console.)
  • Get an email alias from your domain host and have the alias autoforward from your domain to another active email account.
  • Get email hosting through your domain host.
  • Get email hosting through your web host (such as GoDaddy, Weebly or Wix).
  • Get email hosting through an email-hosting company, such as Zoho.
