Track and control hotspot usage

Track hotspot monitors the amount of data that you’ve shared using the Android hotspot feature. Track hotspot can record the amount of data used by your hotspot and alert you when it reaches the limit that you specify.

How to turn on Track hotspot

To turn on the Track hotspot feature, follow these steps:

  1. On your Android phone, open the Datally app.
  2. Tap Track hotspot on the home screen.
  3. Enter your data limit. You can limit your usage in MB or GB.
  4. Tap Go to Settings.
  5. Tap Hotspot & tethering.
  6. Enable the Wi-Fi hotspot.
  7. Navigate back to the 'Track hotspot' screen in the Datally app.
  8. Tap Track hotspot to begin monitoring your data.
Note: You can turn on the Track hotspot feature in Datally while your Android hotspot is off. However, this feature will only start tracking any hotspot data used provided your Android hotspot is also turned on. Make sure that both are turned on for the feature to work.

How to turn off Track hotspot

When your hotspot usage reaches the specified limit, your hotspot doesn’t automatically turn off. Your phone will continue to operate as the hotspot until it’s disabled in Settings.

  1. Tap Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Hotspot & tethering.
  3. Turn off the Wi-Fi hotspot.
Note: Track hotspot works even when your Data Saver is off.
