You can check notifications, change settings, cast to your TV, open or pin apps with Daydream Dashboard.
Open or close Daydream Dashboard
To open the dashboard, press the Daydream button in any VR app.
To close the dashboard and go back to your VR app, press the Daydream button again.
Control notifications
Open a notification
To open a notification, point to it with the cursor and press the touchpad on the controller.
Some notifications can only be opened outside of VR. To open these notifications, exit VR first.
Clear a notification
- Point to a notification with the cursor.
- Press and hold the touchpad to select it.
- Drag it outside of the notifications tray.
- Release the touchpad.
To clear all notifications, select the Clear all button at the bottom.
Control apps
Open an app
To open an app from the Dashboard, select Library or from the list of apps at the bottom of the Dashboard.
Pin an app
- Open the Library .
- Point to an app with the cursor.
- Press and hold the touchpad to select it.
- Drag it to the list at the bottom.
- Release the touchpad.
The apps that you've pinned will show to the left of the Dashboard.
Unpin an app
- Point to a pinned app with the cursor.
- Press and hold the touchpad to select it.
- Drag it up into an empty space.
- Release the touchpad.
Close an app
To close an app and go back to the Daydream Dashboard, press the Daydream button .
Check system status
To check the phone or controller battery level, network connection, or time and date, you can also use Daydream Dashboard.
Check phone battery level and connection
- Press the Daydream button in any VR app to open the Daydream Dashboard.
- You'll see the battery level and connection at the top.
Check controller battery level
- Press the Daydream button in any VR app to open the Daydream Dashboard.
- Look down at your controller. The green dots show the charge level.
- Five green dots: The battery is full.
- One blinking red dot: The battery is almost empty and should be charged.
Check date and time
- Press the Daydream button in any VR app to open the Daydream Dashboard.
- Point the cursor at the top of the Dashboard.
- The current date and time will appear underneath the cursor.
Change quick settings
First, press the Daydream button in any VR app to open the Daydream Dashboard.
Then you can:
- Start or stop casting by selecting Cast .
- Mute or unmute audio by selecting audio .
- Show or hide notifications while you're in VR by selecting notifications .
- Note: This doesn't clear the notifications from the list. To clear all notifications, select the Clear all button at the bottom.
- Connect or disconnect from Wi-Fi by selecting Wi-Fi .
- Switch between right- and left-handed modes by selecting Settings Handedness.
