After you've created a form, you can add and edit up to 300 pieces of content, like questions, descriptions, images and videos. To organise your form by topic, you can add up to 75 sections.
Add questions, headers and sections
Add a question- Open a form in Google Forms.
- Click Add .
- To the right of the question title, choose the type of question that you want.
- Type the possible responses to your question. To prevent people from not answering, turn on Required.
Add an image or video to a question or answer
You can add an image to a question or an answer for multiple choice or tick box questions.
- In Google Forms, open a form.
- Click a question or answer.
- To the right, click Add image .
- Upload or choose an image.
- Click Select.
Add an image or video on its own
You can add an image or YouTube video to your form. You can’t add videos to questions, but you can place them before or after a question.
- In Google Forms, open a form.
- To add an image, click Add image . To add a video, click Add video .
- Choose your image or video and click Select.
Sections can make your form easier to read and complete.
- In Google Forms, open a form.
- Click Add section .
- Name the new section.
Questions or images
- Click a question or image.
- Click Duplicate .
Sections
- Click a section heading.
- Click More .
- Click Duplicate section.
- In Google Forms, open a form.
- At the right, click Add question Import questions .
- Click the form with the questions that you want to import Select.
- On the right, click the box next to each question that you want to add.
- Click Import questions.
Delete or edit items
To edit a question, header or description, click the text that you want to change.
Delete a question, image or sectionQuestions or images
- Click a question or image.
- Click Delete .
Section
- Click a section heading.
- Click More .
- Click Delete section.
- If you have more than one section, you can change the order.
- At the top right of any section, click More .
- Click Move section.
- To move a section, click Up or Down .
- If you want to undo a recent change:
- At the top right of your form, click Undo .
Randomly order questions and answers
You can have questions and answers appear in a different order for everyone who fills in your form.
Note: Questions and answers will only be shuffled once per email address. Make sure that each address is entered separately and not sent to a Google Group.
- At the top of the form, click Settings.
- Next to ‘Presentation’, click the Down arrow .
- Under ‘Form presentation’, turn on Shuffle question order.
- Click the question that you want to shuffle answers for.
- At the bottom right, click More .
- Click Shuffle option order.
Turn off auto-save for responders
By default, draft responses to forms are auto-saved for 30 days after a responder’s last edit or until the form is complete, whichever comes first.
You may want to turn off auto-save on forms:
- Used for repeated data entry
- Embedded in websites
- Used for registration or sign-ups on shared devices
To turn auto-save on or off:
- At the top of the quiz, click Settings.
- Next to ‘Presentation’, click the Down arrow .
- Turn Disable auto-save for all respondents on or off.
Change your default settings
To make every new form use the same settings:
- In Google Forms, open a form.
- At the top of the quiz, click Settings.
- Under ‘Default’, any setting you turn on will be the default for any new form.
